Under the direction of the Clinical Operations Director, the Clinical Operations Supervisor facilitates the delivery of outstanding service and clinical support. In this role, he/she will be responsible for acting as the primary liaison between BDOHI management and the enterprise partner in order to meet client expectations. In addition to managing a representative caseload with Nurse Advocate responsibilities, the Supervisor provides day to day support and leadership of the BDOHI Team.
This role is full-time 5 days per week on site at client office and may have flexibility to work 2 days per week remotely.
What you will do:
Perform Nurse Advocate responsibilities (with a representative caseload) as needed
The Supervisor will work closely with the Director to perform basic and routine people management duties, such as administration of staff schedules, providing performance feedback and leading training activities. The Supervisor will also participate in projects and initiatives geared at process improvements and efficiencies
Perform onsite supervisory duties, including:Lead the day-to-day activities of onsite staff and case workflow, including assignment of incoming case workApprove time cards and requests for time off and/or schedule adjustments to ensure proper coverage for the Enterprise PartnerAssist BDOHI Manager with recruitment and onboarding of new onsite staffMentor and train new and existing staff on various topics, including Patient Advocacy, technical tools, processes, etc.Provide real-time, performance-related feedback to staff
Foster a quality focused environment, by assisting to implement quality assurance monitoring and goals for staff by collecting statistics in caseloads, case closures and return to work.
Demonstrate commitment to the professional and organizational vision as it pertains to the right diagnosis and right treatment for injured employees.
Act as a primary point of escalation for onsite staff and other Enterprise Partner representatives (such as claims executives) for questions or issues related to diagnosis, treatment, pharmacology, rehabilitation and clinical selection cases.
Participate as needed as an expert resource in selected sales, marketing and educational activities.
Work cooperatively as part of the patient/claimant management team to assure seamless provision and coordination of services
Assist patient advocates to identify and develop an occupational injury nursing treatment and rehabilitation plan for injured employees who are at risk for refractory recovery.
Assist the patient advocate as a resource to choice access to an appropriately qualified clinician convenient to their home or workplace.
Act as an educational resource for the Enterprise Partner for clinical issues related to the appropriate use of modified or transitional employment.
Provide a work environment conducive to harmonious work relationships and good staff morale.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor s Degree required
Current Nursing Licensure in Massachusetts and New Hampshire required, and in additional New England states preferred
Current CCM certification preferred
Five years+ of nursing experience in teaching hospital-based orthopedic or chronic pain environment
Leadership experience in a clinical setting required, minimum of 3 years preferred
Strong computer skills required, including ability to type efficiently, utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and to learn and navigate software systems
Familiarity with the claim adjudication process
Ability to work collegially and professionally with a wide variety of partners, including physicians, attorneys and claim executives, and leadership
Strong knowledge of the regional occupational health and medical specialist community
Familiarity with the workers compensation environment including regulatory, utilization review and clinical practice issues
Experience within the managed care environment or experience with quality improvement initiatives
Ability to work under minimal direction, including demonstrated initiative in a cohesive team environment.
Passion for continuous learning, operational improvement and evidence- based practice to guide decision making.
